El Toro Zoysia

El Toro Zoysiagrass, developed by the University of California, is a medium bladed variety that is similar in appearance to Meyer Zoysia. El Toro Zoysiagrass recovers quickly and has shade tolerant characteristics. El Toro Zoysiagrass has become a popular golf course grass because it does well on shady tee complexes.

Emerald Zoysia

Emerald Zoysia is a hybrid Zoysia variety with a dark, emerald green color and a finer, wirier blade texture. Emerald Zoysia grass is moderately shade tolerant. It has a low growth habit which requires less mowing and also stands up well to foot traffic. When properly maintained, both varieties of Zoysia form a dense turf that virtually chokes out weeds, making them weed resistant grasses. Both go dormant and turn a straw color in the winter, providing good color contrast in the landscape.

Platinum TE Paspalum

Platinum TE Paspalum has no swirling grain in the greens canopy surface and does not exhibit loss of the shiny dark green color from chlorophyll loss during exposure to low light intensity or during colder air temperatures. Platinum TE generally is not a true genetic dwarf warm season grass cultivar in the context of the super or ultra dwarf hybrid bermudagrass cultivars. Platinum TE exhibits continuous growth that provides excellent wear tolerance plus divot and ball mark recovery. Platinum TE offers golf courses and other sports venues unparalleled playability and cosmetic appearance.

Seashore Paspalum

Similar to the Bermuda grasses in texture and playability, Salam Seashore Paspalum was originally marketed for golf greens and tees, especially in salt-challenged environments. Salam Seashore Paspalum is a warm-season perennial grass that spreads by stolons. The stolons and leaves of Salam Seashore Paspalum are slightly coarser than those of common Bermuda grass. However, when mowed regularly at heights of 1 inch or less, the grass produces a dense turf. One of the outstanding characteristics of Salam Seashore Paspalum is its tolerance to saline soils. It is reported to tolerate brackish sites much better than Bermuda grass. Salam Seashore Paspalum grass thrives in moist sites. It tolerates wet conditions much better than Bermuda grass. Although Salam Seashore Paspalum survives prolonged dry periods, it shows moisture before Bermuda grass. Salam Seashore Paspalum’s drought tolerance is similar to that of Centipede grass.
